Matthew C. Ragan, M.D.
Dr. Matthew C. Ragan is a native of the Wiregrass area and is proud to care for patients in his hometown of Dothan, Alabama. He is passionate about building long-term relationships with his patients and providing thoughtful, individualized care at every stage of life.
Dr. Ragan has a special interest in minimally invasive and robotic gynecologic surgery, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, and comprehensive pregnancy care—from preconception counseling through delivery and postpartum support. He is committed to staying at the forefront of advances in women’s health while ensuring his patients feel heard, informed, and supported in their medical decisions.
Dr. Ragan earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, graduating cum laude from Auburn University. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was recognized with a resident teaching award for his dedication to medical education. He is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Among his honors, Dr. Ragan was awarded the Turner Medical Society Scholarship, recognizing Wiregrass medical students who exemplify leadership, scholarship, and service to their community.
Outside of the office, Dr. Ragan enjoys volunteering through his church and spending time outdoors with his wife and their four children—two daughters and two sons.
